Who we are

Norfolk Care Careers is operated by Norfolk County Council with the aim or raising awareness of the adult social care sector and the career pathways available within it. Its purpose is to support the sustainability of the adult social care sector across Norfolk and Waveney with a focus on workforce.

What information we collect and use about you

The information we collect and use may include:

  • Employer details, name, personal email address, company/business email address, telephone number, company/business address and name
  • Job vacancy details (pay rates, location, job title ad category, working pattern, employer name and logo, type of service provided and client group supported, number of vacancies, sponsorship licence offered, driving licence required, whether the role involves personal care or not and if the vacancy is filled or not)
  • Communication preferences
  • Job seeker name and email address, preferences for job types, service types, locations and news.
  • Customer website feedback 
  • Send email information on jobs and latest news/resources available (if you have signed up/consented to receive them).

How we use your information

We use personal information primarily to provide advice, guidance and support for jobs seekers and adult social care providers and their workforce across Norfolk and Waveney.

This includes:

  • To create an employer account (to advertise jobs and access the employer resource hub)
  • Employers and Job Seekers - To set up email alerts (if you have provided separate consent), to notify you of new jobs/news or resources that have been added to the website.
  • Supporting adult social care providers with their workforce strategies
  • Supporting the adult social care workforce to access training and information
  • Supporting job seekers to secure employment in adult social care within Norfolk and Waveney.
  • Supporting Norfolk County Council to ensure a viable and sustainable care market
  • Website visitors via Google analytics, gender, age, geo location, interests, website usage.

Reporting data will also use your personal information and other available information such as: survey information and information from partners and local councils to help us understand the needs of different areas and predict where additional resources and support may be required. This means that the computer reports will combine your information and the other available information to create a map which suggests how to better allocate our resources. This is so that we can more effectively provide our services to you and other people in Norfolk, using the resources available to us.

Where we get your information from

The information we hold includes information you have provided to us.

We also receive information from:

  • Relevant teams within the County Council
  • Government departments (e.g. Department for Work and Pensions, Department for Health and Social Care, Home Office)
  • Health bodies and providers including hospitals, mental health trusts, community health and care trusts)
  • Norfolk Care Association (NorCA)
  • Norfolk and Suffolk Care Support
  • Skills for care
  • Care Quality Commission
  • Adult social care providers such as home care agencies, care homes, nursing homes, supported living settings, day services, direct payment support services.
  • Other Local Authorities (to support us in providing and facilitation local services for care, support and related services)
  • Commissioned marketing partners
  • Commissioned IT partners GOSS and Azure

How the law protects you and the legal basis for processing your information

We have legal grounds to process this information because it is necessary:

  • Because you have provided consent (for subscription/email alerts) 

For the performance of a task carried out in the public interest and the task or function has a clear basis in law. 

The tasks we carry out in the public interest are under the: 

  • Care Act 2014 section 5

We have legal grounds to process (including share) special category data because it is necessary for: 

  • You have provided explicit consent for Gender (via Google Analytics)

We may also seek specific consent to use your information in certain ways.  This will normally be where the use of the data is not necessary for the above purposes but may be very useful or helpful to us to provide services. You have a free and genuine choice about the way in which your data is used (for example where it is not necessary for services you need, but we think it may be helpful to you or others).

Who we share your information with (if you are an Employer):

We may also share personal information with other organisations, in particular:

We share this information without your specific consent as it is reasonable and necessary to do so to fulfil our public tasks. The law imposes safeguards to protect your privacy in these circumstances.

We will also share your information, subject to contractual and other legal safeguards, with organisations contracted by us to provide a service to us or directly to you. These service providers are known as data processors and have a legal obligation under UK GDPR and to us to look after your personal information and only use it for providing that service.

How long and how we keep your information

The information is stored electronically, on the County Council's records management system, for example GOSS. Information is also securely stored in other mediums, including email accounts.

Reporting data which is non personal data - e.g. number of job vacancies, number of website visitors, number of applications will be kept for 5 years to enable annual comparison of KPI's, identify market trends and return on investment.

Personal data (e.g. persons name and company email address) - will be kept for 2 years + 30 days for providers.

We do not process your information outside of the European Economic Area.

Online forms and customer databases

When we collect information via online forms, we will only ask for the information required to effectively deal with the enquiry or application. Information provided will either be used to create a subscription account to enable job/news alerts or to create an employer account to enable job posting and access to resources.

The information provided on the 'contact us form' will be added to a customer database (CRM), please see the separate privacy notice for our CRM.

Our main website is provided by GOSS and supported by Azure login security. All websites and login products are subject to data quality controls in line with the UK GDPR. We use the information provided to inform our marketing strategy, process customer enquiries, provide the required service, verify customer identity, update customer records, and test/resolve system or process errors.

Automated decision making

We do not make automated decisions about you.

We update this privacy notice from time to time, so please review it often. The date below is updated every time this privacy notice is updated.
