Strand House: How We Work Our service, Strand House, is located in central Cromer. It provides 9 self-contained flats, supporting up to 10 tenants at a time. Our small size is our greatest strength, allowing our team to deliver consistent, truly 1:1 support and build strong relationships. We support tenants with complex mental health and/or mild learning difficulties who are getting ready to transition back into the community, often following periods of hospital care, residential placement, or homelessness. Tenants typically stay with us for an average of 24 months with the ultimate goal of moving into fully independent living.
The Role: Making a Real Difference During a tenant's stay, our team works closely with them on vital life skills, providing hands-on support and encouragement as they progress on their journey towards:
•Independent Living: Budgeting, managing bills, cooking skills, and domestic tasks.
•Community Life: Making and attending appointments, social inclusion, and finding meaningful work.
•Housing Stability: Supporting applications for the housing register and securing suitable long-term accommodation.
Working at Strand House: A Focus on Recovery We understand that recovery isn't a straight line, and a "success story" is unique for every individual we support. That's why we emphasize personal recovery plans and non-linear, flexible support. Working at Strand House means you get the opportunity to deliver the highest standard of care and be an essential part of visible, life-changing progress. Our care model is built on mutual respect and dedication:
•We champion true person-centred practice, dignity, non-judgement, and respect for every tenant.
•We advocate for tenant autonomy, promoting positive risk-taking and independence within a safe and secure framework.
Strand House is not a care home; it's a supportive stepping stone. We exist to transition tenants out of structured care and back into their independent lives
