Description

Job Purpose:
The main duties of this role will include the following: general household cleaning, including laundry and putting clothes away. Assisting me to get out of bed, help with showering and lay clothes out for me. Preparing lunch and dinner as well as grocery shopping. Basic help with pets and accompanying me on dog walks. Helping with organisation and tidying up around my home. Accompanying me to appointments and necessary errands (picking up medication) and reminding me to get out in the fresh air. Going out and about into the community for coffee and to keep my social skills active. Going to the gym or swimming pool.

Due to health issues associated with my diabetes, it is essential I go outside for walks and light exercise. As such, I am looking for someone who can encourage and remind me and schedule this regularly. Arranging outings at least twice a week to take long walks and accompany me.

Because I have a low immune system, it is essential that PPE be worn should you have a cold/illness.

It is also essential that I use nutrition effectively to help manage my diabetes. The successful candidate would be someone who can cook meals to my specific needs (such as fish and low-fat meals.)

Someone who is open to learning new skills and has excellent time management abilities is essential.

This can be a physically active role, as such, someone who is physically fit is preferred. The property has stairs.

Location: NR17, Attleborough

Details:
Domestic care - changing bed laundry, hoovering and general housework to a high standard.
Meal preparation - shopping, preparing and cooking meals.
Driver with own car - driving/accompanying to some appointments. Occasional errands.
Some personal care - putting cream on back, help with pets, occasional errands,
Basic help with pets, accompanying me on dog walks.
Support with organisation. Planning trips and outings.
Accompanying me to social and leisure activities.

Able to organise nature walks or trips, internet and computer literate, able to search and plan local walks to promote my fitness.
Physically fit and agile to able to take walks with me.

Must have car be able to take me to appointments and/or shopping.
Happy to work around a very friendly dog and cat.

An ability to be adaptive.
A calm and supportive nature.

Desirable:
Female preferred due to personal care element (schedule 9, P1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies)

Summary terms and conditions:
The rate of pay for this position is £15 per hour. You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Hours and times of work: 18 hours per week. Usual work pattern would be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and some Friday afternoons 13:45-17:30 flexible depending on activities.
You will be required to undertake annual training. Free training for all employed staff via FLICK training.
