PA required in Banham to provide sits for a gentleman, 10 hrs p/w @ £12.38 p/h - Norwich - NR16

Job Purpose:
I am an elderly gentleman with a diagnosis of vascular dementia and am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to provide sits and respite for my wife. I am not always able to find the right words in a conversation and tends to sit quietly and listen.

Due to my condition, I am not able to recognise when I am hungry and thirsty, you would therefore need to ensure that I eat and drink. Sometimes I do not swallow my food properly and tend to store food in my mouth. You would need to check that I am swallowing my food and not choking.

Other tasks would include checking that I am safe and comfortable.

Location: Banham, NR16

Essential:
Caring and empathetic.

Desirable:
Experience of looking after someone with dementia. Dementia awareness.

Summary terms and conditions:
· The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour
· Hours and times of work: 10 hours per week, arranged flexibly. Exact days and times of work advised in advance.
· The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
· This position requires the employee to complete the following free annual training: GDPR, Health and Safety and Food Hygiene.

Post is subject to the following:
· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
· Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
