To develop, deliver and monitor the Youth Associate programme on the Wellbeing partnership in the Central Norfolk area.  This role will implement the Youth Associate programme and promote the Wellbeing service specifically to young people encouraging young people receiving help from the Wellbeing service to actively engage with it, support them to recover and go on to provide support to other young people through peer support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver the Youth Associate programme in accordance with the Wellbeing service
  • Deliver Mental Health First Aid training to young Wellbeing service users, supporting and enabling them to become Associates
  • Deliver Youth Mental Health First Aid to non-mental health youth centric organisations, groups, clubs and education providers to improve their mental health literacy and the uptake of the service by young people
  • Create and deliver a programme of groups that aim to develop the social networks of young people accessing the service
  • Create and deliver a programme of bespoke mental health workshops that reflect the needs and issues of the local young people
  • Create and deliver a programme of social events that encourage young people to connect with their community in ways that are meaningful to them
  • Support in the production of a bi-monthly youth focused magazine
  • Support and enable young Wellbeing service users to access employment support through the Employment Support Interface Manager
  • Support and encourage young people accessing the service to contribute and develop the service wherever possible
  • Recruit young Associates to become Ambassadors and/or Peer Support Workers, offering ongoing training, support and supervision for the duration of their engagement with the service
  • Encourage young Wellbeing service users to be part of a local peer network that promotes the service, contributes to it’s development and delivery and monitors it’s impact
  • Work with local youth organisations, youth primary and secondary services, businesses, education providers and communities to promote the service and provide opportunities for young people
  • Improve uptake of the service by working closely with local under-served members of the youth community
  • Support and share best practice with all YASCs
  • Work with Wellbeing service staff to develop training, integrate the Youth Associate programme with clinical interventions and to encourage young service user co-facilitation in the delivery of the service
  • Maintain outcomes databases for the Wellbeing service monitoring and performance markers
