Violence against Women and Girls Advocate

We are delighted to be advertising this new and exciting role of a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Advocate who will deliver a new initiative to improve the safety of women and girls at night in Norwich. 

The Magdalene Group has been established in Norwich for almost 30 years; supporting women and young people who are affected by sexual violence, coercion and exploitation.  We provide trauma and gendered informed services with the violence against women and girls (VAWG) agenda at the heart of all that we do. 

This role will be pivotal in developing and delivering training to night time economy (NTE) businesses and helping make venues safe spaces for women and girls.  Partnership-working with be crucial with not only businesses in the NTE but also a range of multi agencies working together to promote the safety of women and girls.

The post-holder will have an in-depth knowledge of the VAWG agenda, strong communication skills, be dynamic in training and presenting both face-to-face and online and be passionate about raising awareness of these issues to bring about change.

Salary: £26,000- £27,500 per annum fte.

Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 37.5 hours a week.  Working hours will include some evenings and weekends.
