This is a part time Support Worker post to support Anna for a minimum of 12 hours per week to support her to access therapies, become more independent at home, supporting her to complete college work, and supporting her in activities with her friends (when Covid-19 risks have lessened). It is essential that you can drive to enable Anna to access her local community. Anna has Cerebral Palsy which has resulted in a significant physical disability and communication difficulties; however, Anna does not let these challenges impact on her quest for life. She is a determined, intelligent and very sociable young lady who wishes to do the things all young people of her age do.
We are seeking a support worker who could support Anna to attend physiotherapy sessions, Pilates and other activities. The current fixed activities are on a Tuesday morning, and 6-8 hours during the day on Friday to support Anna to get her college homework done and go out. The further hours to be used flexibly with prior agreement with successful applicant and Anna. (Please note these times/days may change in the future). In addition, there will be opportunities for overtime at mutually convenient times to support Anna with leisure and social activities.
