Fenners Ltd is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a family home for residential and day care for nine adults with learning disabilities.

BANK  SUPPORT WORKER

Job activities include but are not limited to the following

Employee Accountability/Responsibilities are:

To assist Fenners managers, staff and Fenners care team with the comprehensive care and welfare of all residents, in accordance with Fenners Ltd statement of purpose and the procedures agreed with our registered authorities, the Care Quality Commission, Norfolk County Council guidelines & NHS.

To assist all residents to achieve their maximum degree of independence, physical and creative skills, in a safe manner, and to report to the person in charge (Manager or Senior Support Worker) any matter which affects them, while ensuring strict confidentiality and working according to Fenners Statement of Purpose and policies.

To assist in the daily care routine of the home, supporting residents with domestic and cooking duties as necessary, including driving the company and Motability vehicles (Subject to certain conditions & training will be given).

To assist & support residents according to their individual care plans and attend to their personal care, bathing & individual needs where & when needed.

To maintain resident’s welfare within safeguarding policy guidelines and support & enable residents throughout their individual weekly timetable (with dignity at all times).

To undertake occasional sleeping-in duties (Current sleeping-in rate 25 years + is £67.50) by prior agreement.

To maintain daily record keeping (e.g. Medication charts, day book, fluid sheets, keyworker sheets) in accordance with data protection & record keeping policies.

To assist with resident’s social, leisure and holiday activities, as & when required.

To attend daily hand-overs when rostered, staff meetings, and to attend training courses/sessions as required (Hours in lieu and mileage paid when outside of duty hours), to maintain support workers continuing professional development (CPD).

To provide personal care by assisting the resident with their personal care (Inc: hygiene, toileting), medication administration and blood sugar management measurement, following shadowing care shifts, induction training and successful/completion of the care certificate assessed by management.

To assist and implement a programme of activities for all residents (e.g. Baking, reminiscence etc), and to assist with physical activities including Keep fit, Music & Movement, horse riding, swimming when required/rostered.

To carry out any other duties deemed reasonable and necessary by Fenners Ltd management.

Previous experience in care would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given to the successful candidate.
