A fantastic opportunity for a fulfilling and flexible career that can really make a difference to people’s lives!
Affinity Trust is a charity dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities, we are recruiting for a support worker to help people to live as independently as they wish.
We are looking for full time / part time / bank staff to join our team at Gt Ellingham, working in a Supported Living service.
Being a support worker means you are integral to the day to day lives of the people you support, helping them with various activities such as shopping, cooking, cleaning as well as physical support and personal care such as helping to bathe will also be required. We always base our support on the specific needs, choices and aspirations of the individual following our principles of person-centred support.
You must be able to work the following shifts: Early 07:15 – 14:45 / Late 14:30 – 22:00 / Waking night 21:45 – 09:15
As a support worker you will need to be patient, confident, and pro-active with a good sense of humour. You will empathise with the difficulties that these individuals present. Experience in a similar role would be an advantage but not essential as we are committed to providing all the necessary training required.
In return we offer a rewarding career where no 2 days are the same, as well as a great benefits package including:
• 28 days paid holiday per year (Inc. bank holidays & increasing to 33 days with length of service)*
• Access to an online discount portal: affinity4you, that offers discounts on shopping, holidays, days out etc.
• Competitive pension scheme (we will match contributions up to 6%)
• Childcare vouchers
• Employee Assistance programme (24 hour helpline)
• Occupational Health support
• Paid for DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)
• Funded training
Affinity Trust are an equal opportunities employer that promotes diversity within our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of sexual orientation, race, age, gender, disability, religion or belief.
