We work with people who have a range of support needs and our focus is always on the individual and how best to support them to live the type of life they wish to live, to have fun and make memories!
In this role you will be working in an Outreach service.
You will be supporting a young gentleman with autism.
You will need to support him to interact within the community, to go out and about to improve his social life. This may be going to gigs, bowling, meals, visiting the pub, playing pool. He has a keen interest in music and plays guitar and is a fan of football.
He also requires support to access local groups, make friends and ultimately to find some form of employment. Your role will be to support him to achieve this by searching for opportunities together and supporting him to improve his confidence and social skills.
You will need to be friendly, confident, chatty, able to remain calm and relaxed at all times, understanding, active and like the outdoors.
This gentleman likes lots of verbal communication and interaction is key in this role.
We always base our support on the specific needs, choices and aspirations of the individual following our principles of person-centred support.
Car driver with use of own car desirable. Full training will be provided and you will have support from your management team
