We are currently looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our team. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that values, respect, dignity and empathy and make a real contribution to the quality of our service users lives.

Responsibilities of the Senior Support Workers:

  • To be able to run a team with confidence and correct leadership skills
  • To help support staff within the home, to use the online system to record incident, support plans and all relevant information relating to the service user’s day
  • To have a good understanding of safeguarding and how to report these to the local authority
  • Be able to work alongside the management team to provide extraordinary person-centred support which is safe and maximises choice, dignity, and independence
  • Be able to act as a role model and mentor to the team
  • To be able to record and complete effective 1:1 supervision
  • Gather all necessary information and ensure that thorough handovers are conducted from shift to shift
  • Provide support to individuals in a respectful, sensitive, compassionate and person-centred manner in all aspects of daily living

Duties will include:

  • Running the shift timely and effectively
  • Completing handovers
  • Medication Administration
  • Ordering medication
  • Completing Audits
  • Meal preparation and support
  • Personal Care requirements
  • Supporting with Activities In line with the service user’s activity schedules
  • And more included within the job description (this can be given on request)

Requirements of the Senior Support Workers:

Desirable:

  • Be able to demonstrate a warm, person-centred, and affirmative approach to people with learning disabilities.
  • NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Caring and compassionate
  • Able to manage changes in the service efficiently and effectively
  • Driving license

Essential

  • Experience in health and social care (1 year)
  • Leadership skills
  • Organised, resilient and flexible attitude
  • Confident with technology
  • Person centred approach
  • Excellent role model and team player
  • Able to work in a team, and lead the team
