Sunnycroft Care Home is a privately owned care home in the heart of Taverham on the out skirts of Norwich which provides care for those needing residential care and dementia care. At present we are looking to employ new staff to work along our existing team.
Responsibilities of a Senior Healthcare Assistant
To provide care in a respectful, sensitive and person-centered manner to our residents.
To assist and support our residents with the planning and delivery of their care
To assist and support our residents in taking their medication as prescribed by their GP.
To be able to be a team leader with good organisational skills
To assist our residents to keep positive links with their families and friends
Promote people’s independence and take assessed risks.
Requirements of a Senior Healthcare Assistant
Desirable but not essential to have an NVQ 3 or diploma in Health and Social Care or to be working towards. A minimum of a level 2 NVQ or diploma will be considered with an intention of progressing into a level 3.
Knowledge and skills in administration of medication.
To have a positive attitude and commitment to the home.
Must be caring and compassionate
To be a good listener and problem solver.
Calm and organised
Good literacy and communication skills to speak with the residents, colleagues, families and health professionals
To be able to work varied shifts patterns to include weekends, nights, early, late, long days and public holidays.
Able to manage change and be flexible and adaptable.
