Foxwood is a short break home for children aged 5 to 18 years, with severe learning/physical disabilities including children with complex health needs and challenging behaviour.
We are seeking a suitably qualified or experienced practitioner to join our multi-skilled, established team. You will be enthusiastic, flexible and responsive to the needs of children. You will be required to provide direct care to disabled children and ensure that their holistic needs are met. A willingness to learn and a knowledge of disability is essential.
Additionally, you will also be required to liaise and work with families and professionals, therefore good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Ideally, you should have a NVQ3 or CWDC Diploma in working with Children and young people. However, consideration will be given to suitable candidates without this qualification. This training will be offered as it is essential to requirements of the role.
The role also includes occasional sleep ins, night work, weekends and bank holidays.
