The Company 

Prestbury Care currently provides community care and support to adults (18+) in their own homes and have high expectations for quality of care provided. We provide Domiciliary care, Night time care and Live-in care. The areas covered are within West Norfolk, specifically King’s Lynn, Downham Market and villages in-between. Clients can be further afield depending on the service provision. Contracts are held with both Social Services and the CHC.

 

The Purpose of the Role:

We are looking to expand our service line to include nursing led community care and require an experienced RGN to assist the current management team to secure a Nursing led contract with Social Services / CHC, take on the Registered Nurse and Nominated Individual role and manage the team on an on-going, daily basis.

This will be a lead, advisory and hands on role, as such the candidate must have a registered NMC Pin and experience in management. The individual will undertake ongoing clinical competency reviews with staff, they will participate in the training of staff in relation to specific client needs and provide support and guidance to both staff and clients.

 

So what does that mean to you?

You will be involved from the very beginning. You will have input and / or management of the set up of the full nursing led provision line, including recruitment, general management practices, set up of required tasks etc etc.

Our current management team are experienced in management of Community and Home based care, so both theirs and your skill sets can be utilised and used as support.

Once ready to accept clients, you will be involved from the initial referral stage supporting the community based management team to undertake the client assessments and develop the client’s care plan. You will give clinical support and advice in the community to our team, ensuring that the service works within appropriate guidelines and operates safely and to meet our client’s outcomes.

You will identify and source appropriate training for staff and undertake regular competency monitoring.

 

The Role:

  • The role is to start ASAP
  • Full time: Mon – Friday. Additional and or varied hours may be required due to the nature of social care and On-call duties may be required until all support roles are filled.
  • Participate in clinical client assessments for new referrals and existing clients, undertake and advise in relation to risk assessments relevant to each client and their individual situation.
  • Monitor staff competencies, working collaboratively with our community based management team in providing training and guidance.
  • Conduct regular, cyclic client reviews and respond accordingly to concerns and changes in needs.
  • Work effectively and in partnership with clients/NOK, health professionals, across health and social services to contribute to high standards of care and clients achieving their outcomes.
  • Build lasting professional relationships, attend and participate in multidisciplinary meetings in relation to clients care.
  • The post holder must feel confident in their ability to review and assess staff competency in order to train and develop staff knowledge, skill and understanding.
  • The individual must be proactive to research, learn and advise on any unfamiliar health conditions. In addition should be willing to attend training that will develop and further their knowledge to further develop the care staff.

  • Is able to effectively manage office based tasks alongside field based tasks.
  • Can delegate where appropriate
  • Will work alongside the current management team
  • Is looking for a varied role and can be flexible whilst the service line is set up
  • Experience in supporting a community based team to provide quality care services.
  • Has effective time management and planning skills and is able to multi task effectively.
  • Has effective staff management skills
  • Has strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to build lasting professional relationships.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.

 

Salary Expectations: 

Annual Salary is expected to be between £40k and £50k per year and can be discussed during application.
