Job Purpose

To manage a 24 hour programme using a psychologically informed environment to provide effective recovery and social recovery programmes that support those staying at Omnia to set personal goals, acquire the skills to meet those goals and to live interdependent and fulfilling lives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Model and promote practices identified in the psychologically informed environment (PIE) framework used at Omnia. This framework includes a focus on person centred care, trauma informed practice and the recovery model
  • Ensure operational running of the service reflects PIE framework, is safe, efficient, effective and empowering for staff and those staying at Omnia
  • Ensure operational practices are compliant with CQC standards
  • Ensure effective teamwork and integration with other Norwich Mind staff, in partnership external agencies, those staying at Omnia, their friends and family
  • Monitor progress of the programme against agreed goals and report to the Head of Recovery, appropriate Norwich Mind committees and funders
  • Work within Norwich Mind policies and Codes of Conduct
  • Facilitate excellent assessment, care planning, programme design, teamwork and co-operation with other providers
  • Ensure that the operation of Omnia complies fully with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements

Specific Duties

  • Operate the programme within the agreed budget and contractual specifications
  • Support staff and volunteers so that they are able to develop and practice the skills required to achieve the programme goals
  • Actively include those using the service in the operation of the service through both formal and informal methods
  • Ensure that staff and volunteers understand and can effectively practice their roles and responsibilities in relation to and in accordance with the established PIE framework
  • Measure and monitor the effectiveness of training undertaken by staff and volunteers
  • Ensure that practice in Omnia is reflective and improving constantly through involvement in the quality process, provision of appropriate supervision, and other staff development strategies
  • Promote a culture of learning within the programme through the generation and implementation of new strategies co-created and co-delivered with those who have lived experience of using secondary and acute services
  • Support the development of and on-going partnership with peer organisations to provide additional support to those staying at Omnia, share best practice and provide cost effective provision
  • Ensure that the programme is evaluated fully and annually
  • Undertake training and development in agreement with the Head of Recovery
  • Participate actively in the wider strategic and operational issues faced by Norwich Mind
  • Promote the service to third parties, including talks, presentations at conferences and journal articles
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the senior management team
