Job description
Listed below are details of the purpose and general tasks of the job to provide some insight of what is involved. It is advisable to refer to this when submitting your application for the post.
Job Purpose
To support a woman with complex physical support needs with all daily living tasks.
Location: Little Melton, NR9.
Duties to include:
  • Supporting me with mobilising around my home safely, including wheelchair handling.
  • Carrying out transfers safely using specialist OT equipment including hoists, profile beds and pressure relieving equipment.
  • Preparing meals and drinks to help me manage my nutrition and fluid intake throughout the day.
  • Supporting with all aspects of my personal care, including showering, dressing/undressing and incontinence management.
  • General household tasks may be required of you, such as doing my laundry.
  • Administering medication as required.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

Essential
  • Must be very patient and understanding.
  • Must like animals as I have two cats and a puppy.
  • Must have an understanding of my conditions or be willing to learn about my conditions and support needs if unsure.
  • Must have previous experience delivering one to one care.
Desirable
  • Have an understanding of autism and its effects on everyday life.
Summary terms and conditions
  • The rate of pay for this position is £14 per hour.
  • You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
  • Hours and times of work: 21 hours per week job share. This will consist of 2x 1.5 hour visits daily, working approximately 8am-9:30am and 8pm-9:30pm Monday to Sunday. Some flexibility available in terms of start times and shift patterns, to be discussed further at interview.

  • A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
  • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
  • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.
