£9.50 per hour and £80 per sleeping night

PA/ Carer required for a young lady with learning difficulties. I’m looking for one or two people to join our small team, caring for and supporting D in her own annex and out in the community.

About D

D loves going out and about, she loves activities like walks, feeding ducks, shopping, going round the city, bowling, going to pubs and restaurants, the zoo and sea life centre etc. D lives in her own self-contained annex joined on to her parents’ house. She has her own wet room, living room, kitchen, and bedroom. She has a ceiling hoist fitted which runs through all the rooms except the kitchen.

D is double incontinent, non-weight bearing and has complex needs i.e. epilepsy and autism etc. She has a Motability van which staff must be able to drive so will need a full driving licence. There is a staff bed in the living room for the sleeping night shifts.

There in one dog that lives in mum’s side of the house, but he does come to visit D

PA must have a full driving licence and happy to drive D’s Motability Van

PA will be required to do mandatory training including peg training and other training as necessary.

Main duties will include support with all care, personal and domestic needs. Support in the home and out and about.

Person Specification

· Driving Licence (manual)

· Experience is not required but is a bonus

· Must have a positive attitude towards work

· Team player is essential

Hours available
Every Monday from 9.am-1pm to help with swimming (this would be a double up shift)
Every Friday evening 6.30 pm to the next morning at 7.30 am (This is including a sleeping night )
Every other Saturday 7.30am-7.30 am Sunday morning (this includes a sleeping night )
Every other Sunday 7.30 am to 7.30pm

Summary terms and conditions

D’s sister is employer and care manager

• The rate of pay for this position is £9.50 per hour / £80 per sleeping night

• You will be reimbursed for any expenses incurred as part of the role.

• The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work

which would normally be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

• A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this position, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.

• The successful applicant will be required to provide details of two referees, one

of which must be their current or most recent employer.

• This post is subject to a probationary period of 3 months
