Job description

Job Purpose: To provide support to J, a 34-year old man born with a rare chromosome disorder, resulting in severe language, learning and behavioural difficulties. J has also been diagnosed with anxiety, ADHD and some autistic traits.
 
Location: Browston, Great Yarmouth
Details:
·      To attend to J’s personal care.
·      To take J out in the car and assist him to enjoy activities of interest to him, such as going to McDonalds for coffee.

·      Encouraging J to explore other activities that he may enjoy.

Person specification

Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. My assessment of these, both on application and at interview, will be the main factor in determining if you are successful. Please refer to these when submitting your application.

Essential
·  Proven experience and able to produce references of working with adults with learning difficulties and knowledge of Autism.
  • An excellent standard of spoken English.
  • Prepared to provide personal care.
  • Flexible with working hours and able to work alongside another PA.
  • Over 25 years of age with a full UK driving licence and over 1 year’s experience of driving, in order to drive J’s Motability car.
Summary terms and conditions
  • The rate of pay for this position is £12 per hour.
  • You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
  • Hours and times of work: Alternate weekends, 9:30am-4:30pm. Extra hours may also be available for cover or on a more permanent basis.
  • The annual holiday entitlement will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
