We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative Occupational Therapist to support an existing countywide team in achieving good results for service users.

Our new team has been set up to support Adult Social Services in addressing the current unallocated work and overdue reviews across the regular community care teams.

As an Occupational Therapist your professional skills will be essential to the ethos of this team and you will work alongside the Team Manager and Practice Consultants to ensure your team of Assistant Practitioners have a strengths based approach to their work and that service users are supported to be independent in their own homes.

Your team members, whilst being centrally managed, will be locality based so that they can maintain a community focus. The team is currently being managed virtually due to COVID-19 and ICT equipment and training will be provided to support you with this.

You will use your Occupational Therapy skills to support your team members to be able to utilise all community and preventative services including equipment, assistive technology or targeted information and advice options to support and maintain their independence at home. As a qualified worker you will have good Moving and Handling skills, the experience to give guidance to your team members and to co-work in more complex casework situations. Knowledge of the Disabled Facilities Grant adaptation process would also be desirable.

For informal discussion regarding this discussion, please contact Tom Smith (Team Manager Occupational Therapist) on 01603 222330.

All our office-based roles are currently working from home as part of our Smarter Working plans and to support the health and safety of all our colleagues. We anticipate that working remotely will be a key feature of this role and when offices re-open your office base will be County Hall, Norwich.  Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.
