Foxwood is a short break home for children aged 5 to 18 years with severe learning/physical disabilities, including children with complex health needs and challenging behaviour.
We are seeking a suitably qualified or experienced practitioner to join our multi-skilled established team. You should be enthusiastic, flexible and responsive to the needs of children. You will be required to provide direct care to disabled children and ensure that their holistic needs are met. A willingness to learn and a knowledge of disability is essential.
The post involves shift leading and requires you to take the lead in planning and organising shifts, ensuring the needs of the children are met at all times. Additionally, you will also be required to liaise and working with families and professionals so you must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ideally, you should have a NVQ3 or CWDC Diploma in working with Children and young people however consideration will be given to suitable candidates without this qualification. This training will be offered as it is essential to requirements of the role.
The role also includes occasional sleep ins, night work, weekends and bank holidays.
