Night care assistant required.

Broadacres care home is a 25 bed privately owned residential home, we are very proud of our country setting and spacious living care.

We are currently looking for a new night care assistant to join our bubbly, friendly, professional team.

Sunday and Monday nights 9pm to 8am.

Hourly rate will vary depending on experience and qualifications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

CARE ASSISTANT

 

This job description is to be followed at all times to ensure the smooth running of the home and to achieve the required standards.

 

Purpose of Position

To share with other team members in meeting the personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.

 

To help in the care of the resident’s physical, intellectual and emotional environment and in the general day-to-day activities of the home.

 

To achieve the required standards of comfort for the residents and ultimately by so doing, assist in the smooth running of the home.

 

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

You are responsible to the Person in Charge and the Care Coordinator

 

To maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management of the home.

To assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet.

To help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence; help in the care and use of aids and personal equipment.

Help in the promotion of intellectual and social activities through talking to them or sharing a common interest.

Make and change beds and tidy rooms.

Inspect resident’s clothing for laundering

To deal with contracted soiled laundry appropriately

Assist residents at mealtimes if required.

Answer call bells or door bells promptly and greet visitors politely and helpfully.

Read residents’ care plans, monitor care and record accurately.

Report to the Person in Charge any unusual medical or social problem that may occur.

Report all accidents to the Person in Charge immediately.

To attend and understand thoroughly the fire drill in use in the home.

To maintain a neat and tidy appearance, giving special regard to Health & Safety issues relating to footwear and jewellery.

To be knowledgeable regarding Health & Safety at Work.

To attend and contribute to staff meetings.

To attend supervision and appraisal meetings as required.

To participate in training as required.

To maintain in good condition all equipment used within your department and to report any faults to the Person in Charge immediately.

Ensure sufficient rest is taken in order to work in an efficient manner.

To perform duties as the Person in Charge may deem necessary.

To be knowledgeable of Policies & Procedures which relate to this job description and to follow them at all times.

 

 

 

 

Your duties are to carry out all tasks and duties arising from and incidental to your job description as designated by your employer, whether the owner, or other immediate superior.  Your duties also include such other tasks outside your job description as the employer shall reasonably direct from time to time, having regard to your capabilities and position.  Refusal to carry out tasks so designated may account to conduct warranting summary dismissal.
