Mental Health Recovery Worker (Daytime)

Hours:  Part Time, 26.25 hours per week, daytime between 10:30am to 6:30pm (this includes lunch break of 30 minutes each day). This will be on a rota basis which is to be determined.

The service will run 365 days per year.

Salary:  Starting salary for the role is £19,450 per annum (pro rata)

The role:

We are looking for experienced Mental Health Recovery Workers, passionate about providing one to one emotional support to those in need of support and in crisis. As a valued Recovery Worker, you will be helping people to regain and refocus on their support networks while providing a safe place to regroup and improve social isolation and helping people to achieve their ambitions and potential.

Our Recovery workers support individuals to develop emotional management and personal life skills to achieve greater independence and self-esteem. You will help people to develop coping mechanisms and tools to better manage their mental health. You will be liaising with GPs, external agencies and community teams, making referrals as required.

You will be working in the REST Hub, which is an exciting new service located in Aylsham, at the heart of the community and will operate a safe and friendly environment.  It will be psychologically informed – in line with Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) principles.  This service will offer a wide range of services to empower people to stay well in their community and at home.

Among other responsibilities, you will: 

• Support individuals, possibly presenting in crisis (presenting in a range of ways, including low mood, depressive symptoms, anxiety, mania, self-harming, and experiencing suicidal thoughts) to develop their own safety plan and coping strategies to navigate the crisis situation.
• ​To facilitate and deliver workshops and sessions developed, providing support to individuals who attend them.
• ​Quickly establish appropriate, meaningful relationships with people referred to the REST Hub, supporting them to move out of immediate crisis.
• Connect this group of individuals with peer support workers to implement recovery principles within a community setting.
