Job Purpose
To provide live-in care to a young lady with complex care and support needs.
Location: Aylsham, NR11
Details
Live-in Personal Assistant urgently required for a young lady who needs support to remain independent and continue living in her own home. Support needed with all daily living tasks due to client’s complex health conditions.
Duties to include:
·      Preparing meals, providing support with feeding at mealtimes as required and supporting me to manage my nutritional needs following a seizure.
·      Providing reminders to take medication as prescribed.
·      Support with personal care may be needed post-seizure or when in hospital, including support with dressing/undressing, bathing and washing hair.
·      Support with housework to keep my home clean and tidy, including cleaning, doing laundry and changing bed linen.
·      Support with accessing the local community, facilities and activities.
·      Driving my mobility car as needed.
·      Support with attending appointments.
·      Any other reasonable duties as requested.
Person specification
Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. My assessment of these, both on application and at interview, will be the main factor in determining if you are successful. Please refer to these when submitting your application.
Essential
·      Clean UK driving license holder.
·      Must be female due to personal care aspect of role.
Desirable
·      Knowledge of seizures.
Summary terms and conditions
·      The rate of pay for this position is £9.37 per hour for days, and £9.06 per hour for nights.
·      You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role
·      Hours and times of work: Up to 48 hours of live-in care per week, working 12- or 24-hour shifts. 24 hour per week contract to be offered to new starters with additional cover for holiday and sickness.
The post is subject to the following
·      A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
·      Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
·      Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.
