Are you passionate about providing children and their families with the guidance and support they need to live within the community and family home?
We are looking to recruit Home Based Support Workers across Norfolk to join our new Intensive and Specialist Support service with the aim to enable more children to remain at home safely with their families.
As a Family Support Worker, you will undertake specific tasks and practical support, directed by Family Practitioners/Social Workers to promote safety and well-being and prevent escalation of need.
You will support parents to develop parenting skills and routines as identified in an assessment and as part of a plan. Working collaboratively with the family, you will build and maintain engagement with families to encourage change as identified within a Social Work or Early Help Assessment.
With an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, you will be willing to undertake Signs of Safety, Restorative Practice and Solihull training in your first year. You will have relevant experience providing services for children and young people, and their families and an understanding of child development from birth to 19 including factors which impede overall development.
In order to support families when they most need it, you will be required to work outside of normal office working hours, including some evenings and weekends. You will be required to travel as part of your duties.
This is a great opportunity to join a brand new and innovative service providing the best possible support to children and families.
