Purely Care are looking for Health & Social Care Apprentices.
You will start with learning how to deliver direct care in the community, and then progress to develop skills in care co-ordination and the administration involved in care.
The contract is for 30 hours per week. Working times are to be arranged between the hours of 7am and 10pm. 5 days per week on a rolling rota. Weekend and unsocial hours working is required. On average you would have 3 full weekends off over an 8 week cycle. Therefore this means you will be working part or all of the other 5 weekends in accordance with the rota.
We provide care for disabled and elderly people in their own homes in Norwich. Direct care duties include washing, dressing, help with toileting, meal preparation, shopping and light domestic duties. Most of our work is short visits of 30 minutes or an hour, and then you move on to the next client.
What we need from you
To be a Care Apprentice you need to be able to drive, have your own transport and live in Norwich. (Kickstart may be able to help with a scooter – see www.kickstartmopeds.org.uk/kickstart-moped-scheme). You must have a good standard of literacy (GCSE level C or above) and be computer literate. You should preferably have some experience of working with elderly or disabled people and have a genuine interest in doing care work. Paid or voluntary experience is acceptable. Applications for Care Apprentices accepted from people age 17 and over. This role may also suit an older person who wants to return to work or change careers, and can work full time. There is no upper age limit.
We pay travel time and mileage when you do direct care.
The apprenticeship qualification training is provided by an external training provider. As a Care Apprentice you will be expected to meet the targets set individually for you by the training provider.
