Salary: £42,021- £45,594

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Flexible working across East Anglia- currently Norwich based- however hybrid working opportunities are promoted

About the role:

We work across East Anglia with children and young people on the edge of care, in care and leaving care. You will be joining a team of passionate and dedicated individuals who want the very best for the children and young people they care for.  We strive to provide the highest quality of care, that is based on a therapeutic parenting model and trauma informed practice.  Are you the dynamic and enthusiastic person we are looking for?

In this role you will be responsible for the growth and development of the Fostering service, including all aspects of leading a successful and motivated team (recruitment, training, assessment, appraisals, and supervisions). You will need to have complete oversight on all legislative and regulatory requirements and ensure this is compiled to throughout the service, ensuring Break meets best practice standards. Building relationships will be a vital part of this role, be it internal or external, with young people, foster carers and relevant agencies being your key stakeholders. As part of these successful relations we expect this role to promote a feedback culture to ensure that the service is co-produced and meeting the needs of our young people.


You will need:

  • Social Work Qualification
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Proven experience relevant to fostering/ working with Looked After Children within the last five years; and
  • Experience supervising others , managing and directing performance
  • Capacity to work to targets, and setting goals for others
  • Embedding a positive culture within the team and a “can do” attitude
  • Be able to plan, monitor, adapt and evaluate the service to meet need/ requirements and gain “outstanding” Ofsted rating
  • Experience of continued professional development
  • Experience of shaping and growing services in partnership with commissioners and/or funders and/or beneficiaries
  • Working to growth plans and delivering services within budgets
  • Involving service users in co-producing service delivery, development and planning
  • Managing individual performance and team dynamics

Interview date: 17 and/or 18/08/22

The first interview will be a Safe Care/ Warner style interview. If successful after the first interview, candidates will then be expected to attend a formal interview.

Break operate services for vulnerable children and families and we need to ensure that we take steps to protect both them and our staff teams from the transmission of the Covid 19 virus. It is therefore a requirement for all staff unless they provide evidence of an appropriate medical exemption to be able to meet at least two of the following three requirements 1) Maintain a full vaccination status (including any recommend booster injections) 2) Undertake LFT / PCR or other approved Covid tests as required 3) Wear PPE including e.g. face masks when requested.
