Based in Attleborough (Supported Living Contract)

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our Learning Disabilities team who offer two types of care and support service to adults with a learning difficulty – Respite Care and Supported Living.

Respite Care – Based on the outskirts of Attleborough, Oak Trees is a purpose built building staffed 24/7, offering short-term accommodation for up to four adults at a time, with over 100 adults staying each year.

Supported Living – Offers personalised support to people living in their own home.

About the role

As a Community Support Worker, you will be based at one of our Attleborough supported living contracts which is home to four females, where you will assess the needs of those individuals and develop plans to meet those needs. It is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be female as you will assist them with their personal care needs, ‘permitted under Schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act 2010’, as well as support with budgeting, menu planning, shopping, cooking and keeping their home clean and tidy. You will help them to understand their tenancy agreement, as well as offering support with decorating, simple DIY and home maintenance.

Care and support also covers health and wellbeing, with our team supporting customers to make and attend appointments with health care professionals, with safety and security, and with establishing and maintaining relationships with friends and family. Having use of a car and a full driving licence is essential.

You will work within a flexible working rota to provide appropriate support for service users which includes sleep-in duties as required, paid at £41.50 per night. All applications will be subject to DBS checks and references.

If you share the Empanda ethos and values of offering person-centred care and support of the highest quality to adults with a learning disability, then we would love to hear from you.
