Norse Group work in partnership with a number of care homes across Norfolk and Suffolk, providing a catering service throughout the day to residents. Our service is built around delivering healthy and quality meals, utilising fresh and local produce.

At Burman House in Wisbech, we are recruiting for an Assistant Cook to join our dedicated onsite catering team on a part-time basis working across a two-week rota, 29 hours per week on week one and 19.5 hours per week on week two.

As an Assistant Cook, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency of the kitchen in terms of food preparation and ensuring high levels of customer service are always met. You will also be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness are observed throughout the kitchen and service areas.
  • Assisting in preparation, cooking and serving of food under the Cook in Charge’s direction.
  • Preparing the dining areas for service and tidying away once service is finished.

This part time, permanent position is working 28.5 hours per week and these hours will be contracted as follows:

  • Week 1: Tue 07:30-14:30 & 15:00-18:00 Fri, Sat & Sun 07:30-14:30
  • Week 2: Tue, Wed & Thur 07:30-14:30
