We are looking for people who are organised and can support a team of Support Workers as Activity Coordinator.

The role is working within our adult day service.  We are looking for committed, friendly, patient individuals, with good communication skills, who are able to build positive relationships with our Hamlet Users and staff.

Do you have experience coordinating activities. Are you creative and able t generate ideas?

Can you demonstrate an enthusiasm, energy and want to get involved in activities?

Are you physically fit, an excellent team player with a flexible approach to your work?

Do you understanding the importance for Hamlet Users to be given choice, to be involved, to have fun and socialise, to gain have new experiences and be given opportunities?

Do you have the ability to communicate with a wide range of people of differing abilities?

Do you have an understanding of the experiences of disabled people and their families, and an appreciation of the barriers to inclusion that they may face?

Role Details

Hours: 36 hours over 5 days per week, Monday – Friday

Rate of pay: £17,652.96 per annum (£9.43 per hour) rising to £18,158.40 per annum (£9.70 per hour) after the completion of a successful probation period.

Closing date: midday 1st November 2021

The Hamlet Adult Services provide support to young adults with disabilities and complex health needs through a wide range of individual and group activities at our centre  and within the community.

As Activity Coordinator you will plan and run creative group and individual activities in line with Hamlet Users wishes and needs.

You will be responsible for directing Support Workers and completing risk assessments in line with activities.   We aim to ensure that Hamlet Users, whatever their ability, can take as full a part as possible in their chosen activities.

You will be constantly looking for new opportunities / activities to engage Hamlet Users both in centre life and within the local community.

Supporting our Safeguarding Commitment:

You will be required to hold a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and have supplied at least 2 satisfactory references before starting work. Any conviction or adverse report relating to care, children, vulnerable adults, or dishonesty would make a candidate unsuitable for this role.
