These services offer a wide range of support and information to help adults, young people and children who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

Shared Lives is where support and care takes place in or is based around the the home of a Shared Lives carer. The person being supported either lives with the Shared Lives carer on a long-term or short-term basis or is accessing respite with them.

Housing with care provides people with the opportunity to live in their own purpose-built, self-contained household, while accessing care and meals on-site. This can enable people to live more independently for longer. Care is provided by staff who are available 24 hours.

Adult day care services typically provide social care support in a day centre or other community based setting rather than in a person’s own home. These services provide a wide range of opportunities to support people to engage in meaningful and enjoyable activities alongside other people.

The Direct Payment Support Service (DPSS) helps the person requiring support or their chosen representative to receive a direct payment so they can directly employ someone to meet their assessed care needs. It can support the person through the process of finding, employing, paying and training a personal assistant carer.

Home care services or domiciliary care services traditionally deliver health and social care to people within their own homes.

Reablement care is usually delivered in people’s own homes. The reablement approach supports people to do things for themselves. It is a 'doing with' model, in contrast to traditional home care which tends to be a 'doing for' model. Reablement may be used to support discharge from hospital, prevent readmission or enable an individual to remain living at home.

Supported living is a service designed to help people with a wide range of support needs retain their independence by being supported in their own home. People in supported living have their own tenancy and are responsible for their own bills and cost of living.
